Summer Fruit Tree Pruning Workshop

Book now

As you may know, TCF board members Daniel Wight and Naomi Barnes are keen fruit tree growers. The Tyninghame Organic Orchard is on the same site as our farm and Danny and Naomi will be using it to run a hands-on workshop with everything you need to know about summer pruning of pears, apples (and a bit about plums). You’ll learn how to prune judiciously to help the ripening process and increase yields.

This video was made of last year’s pruning workshop which should give you a flavour of what it involves:

The worshop runs from 2.00pm to 5.00pm on Saturday 9th August.  Numbers are restricted so book quickly to avoid disappointment.   You can book on our eventbrite page - tickets cost £27.80 and its first come first served.  If you have a pair, please bring sharp bypass (not anvil) secateurs.

The event will be at Tyninghame Organic Orchard, St Baldreds, Tyninghame EH42 1XN. If you’ve been to the community farm before, it’s the same location.

St Baldreds is just to the north of Tyninghame village on A198.  It is on the Eve 120 bus route between Dunbar, East Linton and North Berwick (arriving from Dunbar direction 14.24). Can walk up from village off road through orchard.   If driving please park in Community Farm car park, through gate to north of house.

Sorry, no pictures of apples for us to use here!
