Workshops in April

We’re pleased to bring you two workshops in April where you can up your growing skills courtesy of Head Grower Dave Barfoot and Board Director Daniel Wight.

On 19th April Dave will be running a Spring Propagation Workshop - learn how professional growers propagate seed and get ready for summer. This course is suitable for allotment and home growers. We will start with a tour of the market garden and then cover the core principles of propagation, early season growing and spring preparation, planning for continued supply using successional sowings and pest management. More details are available on the button below where you can also book a ticket.

But that’s not all! On 26th April we will also be running a workshop on top-grafting fruit trees. Daniel Wight has decades of experience running an organic orchard and this is sure to be a mine of useful information for anyone with fruit trees. Learn how to change the variety of an already established tree by grafting a twig of the new variety. The workshop will cover why you might want to graft, the core principles of grafting and viewing previously grafted apple and plum trees and a demonstration of the key techniques. As before, click the button below for more details and to book a ticket.
